Enroll

Your firm may apply to enroll in one or all of the Group Insurance Plans offered through the Group Insurance Trust of the California Society of CPAs. All CPA owners must be members of CalCPA for the firm to participate in these plans. If you are not a CalCPA member, please click here to see how you can join.

Firms comprised of two or more persons working 20 or more hours per week are eligible for guaranteed issue. Solo practitioners (one CPA, with no employees) are subject to underwriting and may be denied coverage based on their personal health history.

Your firm needs to complete only one Subscription Agreement to enroll in one or more plans. However, each Eligible Employee (including partners, owners, etc.) must complete a separate Employee Enrollment Form for each plan selected. Employees waiving coverage because they and/or their spouse or dependents are covered by Medicare or a spouse's plan must complete the waiver of coverage section. Failure to complete the waiver may place the employee and their dependents at risk for being denied a special enrollment period in the event that other coverage is lost. Solo practitioners will need to complete the Subscription Agreement and the Employee Enrollment Form and Health Statement for Solo Practitioners.

Special requirement for firms with fewer than 20 employees including solo practitioners

Medicare requires that firms with fewer than 20 employers complete and submit a Medicare Secondary Payer Statement of Employer in Support of Application for Small Employer Exception document. Please submit this form with your application for coverage.
